There are paintings that demand perfection. Then there are paintings that ask for surrender.

Enjoy the Flight was born from one of those rare moments when I stopped trying to control the canvas and simply listened to it. I didn’t plan a moon, a rocket, or a tiny alien. I planned to escape for a while—from structure, from expectations, from gravity. And that’s exactly what happened.

The alien came to me not as a character, but as a sensation: freedom with a grin. It wasn’t lost, nor searching—it was simply in motion. Confident. Lighthearted. Wild. I realized, halfway through the painting, that it was me—or at least the part of me I often forget to nurture. The part that doesn’t need maps or reasons to fly. The part that knows how to enjoy a journey even without a destination.

The moon’s rough texture reminded me of the harsh surfaces we all face—daily routines, doubts, responsibilities. But above it, the alien rides a tiny, comically small rocket with elegance, not worry.

That’s not just humor—it’s resilience.

This painting is not about space. It’s about space within. The permission we give ourselves to be ridiculous, to be joyful, to be alive.
